Helping to calm and overcome dental anxiety is the cornerstone of our dentistry at New River Dental.
We believe in building trust and communication in a relaxing environment for the foundations of a long-lasting, healthy relationship with dentistry and New River Dental Clinic.
How do you help nervous patients?
We understand that we are in a position of trust, and we aim to give you as much control as possible during your treatments.
We ensure that we give you the time you need to complete treatment at a pace that suits you and will talk with you to learn about your reasons for anxiety and try to find solutions that will work for you.
There are some simple ways in which we can alleviate anxiety at the dentist, including arriving early to your appointment, discussing any concerns you have with any of the team, bringing a friend or family member along, taking your time and breathing.
How common is dental phobia?
Dental phobia is common amongst many patients due to various past experiences. However common this may be, we treat all of our patients on an individual basis to tailor each visit to your needs. Our dentists strive to change your perception of dental care to ease future anxieties.
Yes, we do. Sedation is appropriate for most people. If you’d like sedation as part of your treatment, talk to your dentist, and we will arrange this for you.
